K9Knitters - changing the way we help rescue dogs
Last updated: 12th November 2010K9knitters was established in 2006. It established a crafty network of knitters around the country who knitted dog coats which were then sold to raise funds for rescue dogs. Over the five years we operated in this way we raised an amazing £16,000 for various rescue organisations
It’s now the end of 2010 and we have changed the way we operate as we had become a victim of our own success and found the coordination of coat sales and knitters was becoming a full time job! And as Ash and Carrie (the K9knitters coordinators) both had full time jobs and busy lives, it became impossible to keep up with demand.
So, we are no longer selling coats via this website. Instead, you will find information about rescue organisations who would welcome donations of coats sent to them directly. We also have details about another Knitting Club which has been established to sell dog coats to benefit rescue dogs. So, if you fancy picking up your knitting needles and helping dog rescue organisations, your efforts will be much appreciated! You can find out more information on this page here.
We’re not closing down completely - and you can still contact us via the contact form on this page here.
Finally, a HUGE thankyou to all the people who’ve supported us over the years - our knitters, people who bought coats from the website, and people who donated wool. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Thanks, Carrie & Ash
